Sewathon: Sustainable Fashion Campaign

From 13th February- hours of commitment flexible

Each year, an estimated £140 million or 350,000 tonnes of our used clothing is sent to landfill in the UK. The Sustainability Service is collaborating with the School of Design and Oxfam to highlight the social and environmental consequences of fast fashion and how we can reduce waste, including to donating and buying from charities such as Oxfam. We are looking for a team of volunteers who are keen to join our project team to develop an effective publicity and awareness campaign and help make students and staff more aware of the issues.

Bike Hub volunteering

Bike Hub open Tuesday – Thursday 12:00 – 16:00 – hours of commitment up to you

Whether you are completely new to cycling or are a seasoned bike mechanic, the Hub team are always looking for new volunteer recruits to help them out. It’s a great way to meet new people and learn some new skills! All you need to do is register your details with the Hub and outline the skills and knowledge that you would like to gain from your volunteering and you will be ready to start. Sustainability Pop-ups

Wednesdays 12:00 – 14:00 – hours of commitment flexible

This is an ideal opportunity for you to work alongside other volunteers and help spread the dissemination of key sustainability messages to staff, students and members of the public. Each pop up has a different theme or topic depending on current events and campus-wide initiatives taking place near to that time. They are held on the last Wednesday of every month in key locations on and off campus.
