Clunky gears? An annoying puncture? Dodgy brakes? It’s a good idea to get into the habit of checking your bike regularly yourself, and to learn some basic maintenance skills.

The Bike Hub at the University of Leeds will be offering Bike Maintenance 101 training sessions that will take place at the Bike Hub which is located in the heart of campus between EC Stoner and Roger Stevens Building.

These one-hour sessions are aimed at staff and students who would like to understand their own bike a bit better. No experience is required, and we encourage you to bring your bike along with you but you can also learn on our hub bikes if that's not possible.

The goal of these workshops is not only to help you feel more confident in taking care of your bike and encourage you to cycle more, but to hopefully spread this knowledge with friends and family!

Session topics will include how to check your bike, fix lights, tyres, brakes, chains, cleaning, and other simple adjustments that could improve how your bike rides.
