Your chance to design the University of Leeds tree carving!

How would you like to see your creative design standing in a prominent position at the University of Leeds for years to come? We are looking for an inspirational design for a chainsaw carving of a standing tree stump that is located in the centre of campus between Leeds University Union and The School of Earth & Environment. Design brief and details can be found below.

Design a tree carving for the University of Leeds

Timescales: The competition DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED to midnight on Sunday 17th June 2018

Theme: ‘Sustainability – we are international’

  • Create a design suitable for a chainsaw carving
  • The tree stump that will be used is an approximately 5 metre tall ash
  • It is situated between the back of LUU and the School of Earth & Environment
  • You can use any media to create your design
  • You may choose to annotate your design to highlight key features

Entrants: Entries are welcome from the four following groups:

  1. University of Leeds staff
  2. University of Leeds students
  3. Children of University of Leeds staff/students
  4. Children enrolled at the Bright Beginnings Childcare Centre
