About me

Emma is a current student at the University of Leeds studying BSc Environmental Science and is completing her year in industry with the Sustainability Service. Emma's role is the Sustainability Project Assistant, which involves supporting the University's Climate Action Plan, including measuring Scope 3 emissions and the delivery of the Blueprint programme which aids schools at the University to develop their own sustainable action plans.

Emma grew up in Singapore, and prior to this role she was Chair of Promoting Animal Welfare. This was a service that raises awareness about the negative impacts of palm oil containing products on the environment, and fundraises money to aid the protection of sun bears in Indonesia. Emma carried out a research project on the benefits of urban forests in creating sustainable communities, and was a volunteer at Saint Theresa's Nursing Home where she led sustainable arts and crafts activities there.

Emma is involved in Earth and Environment Society, Conservation Volunteers and enjoys running and spending time outdoors.
