Repair Café
- Date
- Wednesday 4 December 2024, 1-4pm
Join us at Makerspace in Edward Boyle Library for our monthly Repair Café.
Skilled volunteers will be on hand to help you fix your broken items and keep them in use, including:
- Clothes, shoes, textiles, and jewellery
- Phones, laptops, and tablets
- Small appliances (kettles, toasters, desk lamps)
- Music and audio equipment (amplifiers, speakers etc.)
- Children’s toys
If you would like to volunteer at the Repair Café, please sign up as a volunteer!
A Repair Café focuses on sharing the skills to repair your items. You will be able to make use of the facilities in the Makerspace, including a 3D printer, sewing machine and overlocker, soldering stations and hand tools. There is no cost to use the Repair Café although you may find you need to purchase parts for some repairs. Our volunteers will be able to advise you on anything you might need as well as helping you with repairs.
You can find Makerspace on the ground floor of Edward Boyle Library. Use your University ID card to enter the gates and turn left, and you'll see signs for Makerspace before the staircase.
No booking is required, just turn up any time between 1pm and 4 pm. If you have any questions then please email Chris Bowie.
Each month the Repair Café will take place on a different day to help ensure as many people as possible can make use of it.
