The University of Leeds’ fourth Student Sustainability Research Conference (#SSRC20) will be taking place on Wednesday 26th February 2020. The conference aims to bring together students, staff, businesses and members of the public to experience the diversity of interdisciplinary student research which engages with one or more of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Building on last year’s conference, this is an event not to be missed; an opportunity to experience the latest sustainability research and projects taking place at Leeds, to network, collaborate, develop meaningful contacts, and broaden your understanding of the challenges faced in a changing world.
The conference will consist of an all-day poster exhibition in Parkinson Court, along with breakout morning and afternoon presentation sessions and workshops. Expect to see updates from local projects on campus as part of the Living Lab programme, research taking place across the Leeds city region, and wider national and international sustainability projects having impacts across the globe.
We’ll be announcing our conference keynote speaker in due course so please keep a lookout across our social media accounts for further information.
A full programme of the day’s events will be made available in the run-up to the event.
This event will be a single-use plastic-free event. Find out more about the University’s #2023PlasticFree pledge at sustainability.leeds.ac.uk/plasticfree.
UN Sustainable Development Goals
The University of Leeds supports the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Presenters have been asked to identify how their research aligns with the SDGs and this will be communicated through their posters and presentations on the day. For more information on the SDGs please visit sustainabledevelopment.un.org.
Photography and video recording
Photographers will be on campus throughout the conference to capture impressions of the day. An external company will also be on-campus recording video at the conference. We may use these images and videos in publicity and marketing materials for future events, on our website, or on our social media accounts. If you do not want to be included in any photographs or video taken by the official conference photographers, please let them know as early as possible.
