Sustainability Volunteers provide a key role with supporting sustainability projects and events and make a valuable contribution to delivering positive, sustainable change for the future. We have a range of different projects and events through the year for you to get involved with. We will give you the training and support needed to take part and get the most out of volunteering with us. Including getting those all-important CV boosting skills! 

For your contribution to sustainability, we will credit all students who volunteer 30 hours or more on our projects by including your volunteering in your  Leeds for Life Higher Education Achievement Record.

Volunteering Opportunities

Sustainable Transport: Help us create a walking and cycling friendly campus!  This includes helping out at the Bike Hub with bicycle hire and maintenance.  Find out more and apply. 

Up Your Street: Work on projects that make Hyde Park an even better place to live! Welcome new students to the area and help them to get to grips with living independently as well as helping to make the area cleaner, greener and more neighbourly!  Find out more and apply.

Biodiversity: Support projects to improve and map biodiversity on campus. Find out more and apply.

Sustainability in the Curriculum: Support the delivery of our Annual Student Sustainability Conference and our dissertation workshops which showcase opportunities for all students to add to their learning experience and to add value to their degree at Leeds. Find out more and apply. 

Sustainable Campus: Support projects that audit and improve sustainability on campus. This includes mapping the locations of sustainability facilities, energy audits, and events to encourage more recycling on campus. Find out more and apply.

Sustainability into Local Schools: Contribute to the sustainability education of local children and create a more sustainable future for our city. Find out more and apply.
