The annual University of Leeds Student Sustainability Research Conference allows students at all levels and across all disciplines to showcase their sustainability-themed research, projects, performances and installations. It is a great opportunity both to learn from others and to get inspiration and ideas for your own research projects.
Building knowledge and understanding of sustainability is fundamental to our teaching strategy here at Leeds, and we are committed to giving opportunities to students to take part in activities to promote sustainability.
We use the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to drive our work in sustainability, and research from students at all levels (undergraduate and postgraduate) and across all disciplines with a link to the SDGs is welcome at the conference.
The 2023 conference takes place in person on 28 March 2023, and for the first time will feature students from 12 higher education institutions across Yorkshire.
The 2022 Student Sustainability Research Conference took place on Wednesday 8 June, with live online presentations alongside an in-person poster exhibition in Parkinson Court. The 2021 conference was the first to take place entirely online, due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. The theme was No One Left Behind, and the presentations reflected and contributed to promoting elements of social equity and their intersections with climate and each other.
