Concordat for environmental sustainability
Letter of commitment to the priorities of the Concordat for the Environmental Sustainability of Research and Innovation Practice
I, Professor Hai-Sui Yu, on behalf of the University of Leeds confirm our commitment to the priority areas outlined in the Concordat for the Environmental Sustainability of Research and Innovation Practice.
The University of Leeds fully supports the priority areas outlined in the concordat. We will deliver against all the priorities in practice and recognise our responsibilities as a signatory, as set out in the concordat.
By signing this concordat we recognise the need to change how we conduct research and innovation as well as promote wider solutions. We also agree to take shared action now and into the future to reduce and eliminate our own environmental impacts and emissions and achieve the transition to sustainable practices.
Our commitment will further amplify our ambition to be at the heart of supporting climate change, mitigation and adaptation, locally and globally, whilst also contributing to a healthier, greener and fairer place to live, work and study. Our commitment to be a signatory to the Concordat will help create meaningful and long-lasting change to collectively reduce the environmental impacts of carrying out research and innovation. This shared ambition will enable the sector to collectively ensure the future design and practice of world-leading UK research and innovation is environmentally sustainable.
Yours sincerely,
Professor Hai-Sui Yu FREng
