Join us for a special Wildlife Wander to celebrate the launch of the Campus Reimagined Greenery Trail!

Note: This event will follow the same route as the Wildlife Wander session at 4-5.15pm on 13 May. Please sign up for the time that works best for you.

Almost 2,000 staff and students voted to make the Campus Greenery Trail one of the six Campus Reimagined mini projects. Join us to unveil the completed trail, be the first to explore the route, and see how your ideas have been brought to life!

At a special edition of our monthly Wildlife Wander on 13 May, we’ll take a gentle 40-minute walk with project lead and tree expert Hazel Mooney and discover how the trail enables us to enjoy our campus green spaces in new ways, with information boards, opportunities to get involved, and even indoor installations that bring the outside in.

Along the way, the University’s Sustainability Programme Officer for biodiversity, Mike Howroyd, will explain how to identify key wildlife species and record your findings to support our thriving habitats on campus.

We'll pause at the Sensory Garden to learn more about how spending time in nature can enhance our wellbeing, with hot drinks and cake to finish.

  • Meet at 12pm at the Sustainable Garden next to the Roger Stevens building for an introduction to the Greenery Trail from project lead Hazel Mooney from the School of Earth and Environment, including unveiling the interpretation board.
  • At 12.15pm, we'll set off for a gentle 40-minute wander around the Greenery Trail, spotting key species of plants, trees and animals along the way. Hazel and biodiversity expert Mike Howroyd will explain how recording your findings can support our thriving habitats on campus.
  • We will finish our Wildlife Wander at 12.55pm at the Sensory Garden to learn more about how spending time in nature can enhance our wellbeing, with hot drinks and cake. To help our sustainability efforts, please bring your own cup if possible. The event will end at 1.15pm.
