Sustainability education: key information for students
When surveyed over 85% of University of Leeds survey respondents felt that programmes of study should develop students’ understanding and skills in areas that make a positive difference to society and the environment (indicated in SOS-UK Skills Survey results). We recognise the importance students place on learning about the climate crisis, social justice issues and other global sustainability challenges.
The university is extending ways to embed sustainability into programme of study (across all levels of study and subject discipline areas). This is complemented by programmes to enhance skills development and participation in sustainability through volunteering, international partnership programme, paid roles and employer engagement activities.
