The University of Leeds Repair Café invites you to join a networking event for local repair cafes, volunteers or anyone interested in repair, reducing waste and contributing to a circular economy, hosted at our Makerspace facility in the Edward Boyle Library.
The event will be an opportunity to meet like-minded repair activists, share skills and resources and sow seeds of collaboration to further the impacts of our work on our environment, society, promoting a culture of repair across Yorkshire and beyond. The event will include:
- A short introduction from Dr Andy Holland, Library Makerspace Specialist and Chris Bowie, Sustainability Project Coordinator
- A tour of our Library Makerspace
- A range of repair challenges for attendees to collaborate on fixes
- A chance to meet some of our student and staff volunteers
- Teas, coffees and a vegetarian buffet (please provide dietary requirements in the checkout form)
The event will be run as a 'drop-in', so you are welcome to join anytime between 5pm and 8pm.
Getting to the event:
The Edward Boyle Library is 5 minutes walk from Parkinson Building bus stops (routes 1A, 22, 23, 24, 25, 27, 28, 56, 874) and 15-25 minute walk from Leeds train station.
If you are unable to travel by public transport and require a parking permit, please let us know.
Taxis can be provided to meet accessibility needs where appropriate.
