We want to establish a community where sustainability sits at the heart of University life. To do this, it’s important that all staff have the knowledge and capacity to operate in a sustainable way and feel supported to do so.
We have created a framework of resources to support staff in their roles. This has been developed to help you learn about topics and activities that are most relevant to your role. Staff may explore these resources as part of their induction, or at any point during their career at Leeds. This package of resources is constantly being added to over time, so keep checking back to stay up to dated with sustainability at Leeds.
All staff must complete this module as part of your induction and then retake it on an annual basis to make sure you are up to date with sustainability at Leeds.
You also need to learn about our Environmental Management System (EMS) and how this may relate to your role. You can find the EMS module on Minerva.
This module has been designed to help leaders and managers develop a good understanding of sustainability and why it’s important to the University of Leeds.
If you've just joined the University or want to build your knowledge, here’s a summary of the things you need to know about sustainability and the opportunities you can get involved in.
Our Sustainable Curriculum programme provides resources and support for educators to develop their own knowledge and embed sustainability in the curriculum.
Our Sustainability Community on Teams is a place for staff to get support, share best practice and learn from each other.
United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
We use the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a framework to guide our activity. Our staff learning hub is linked to all of the SDGs.
