Can you sew? Are you a design enthusiast with a passion for sustainability?

Unleash your creativity and make a difference!

The Sustainability Service is offering an opportunity to join our mission to make fashion more sustainable. We are looking for volunteers to upcycle unwanted or damaged charity stock into desirable garments to be sold in aid of the UK’s leading disability equality charity, Scope.

Why should you get involved?

  • This is a great professional development opportunity to gain experience in sustainable design practices.
  • Enhance your portfolio with a creative and meaningful project, demonstrating your passion for sustainable fashion.
  • By engaging with and promoting circular design principles, you will gain hands on experience integrating sustainability into your creative process - a key skill required to drive the fashion industry to net zero.
  • Showcase your work and demonstrate your creativity by turning neglected garments into one-of-a-kind designs.
  • Contribute to the promotion of a circular fashion economy and make a positive impact.
  • Working with our charity partner Scope will provide valuable insight into the lifecycle of garments, and the textile waste generated by the industry.
  • Benefit the wider community. All upcycled creations will be sold with proceeds going to Scope, a disability equality charity making a difference and campaigning for a fairer society.
  • Opportunity to network with likeminded individuals. Upcycling can be done solo or as part of a group!
