Applications open for the 2023 Student Sustainability Research Conference
Applications to present at the University of Leeds 2023 Student Sustainability Research Conference are NOW OPEN!
The 2023 Student Sustainability Research Conference (SSRC) provides students from any discipline and level (undergraduate through to PhD) the opportunity to share their research and learn from others in a professional conference environment.
The conference is back in person in March 2023 after two years of being online. Applications to present are open until Sunday 11 December 2022 at 11:59pm.
With a theme of collaboration, it will for the first time be open to students from 12 higher education institutions across Yorkshire, making this event more inclusive and collaborative than ever before.
Students can apply to present or perform their work in any format. This could include presentations, installations, workshops, posters, focus groups, or demonstrations. The focus is on inspiring, sharing and learning, and research does not need to be fully complete to be shared at the conference.
Reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of sustainability, research can address any aspect of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
We particularly encourage submissions addressing one of the following themes: Climate Resilience and Adaptation; Net Zero Carbon; Justice, Equality, and Inclusivity; Protection of Nature and Biodiversity. These themes align with the aims of the Yorkshire and Humberside Climate Commission Climate Action Plan. Regional collaboration is vital to the YHCC Climate Action Plan, and core to the University of Leeds Climate Plan’s Supporting a Net Zero City commitments.
