The University’s Blueprint programme has received international recognition though the annual International Sustainable Campus Network (ISCN) Excellence Awards

Led by the Sustainability Service, Blueprint is our flagship staff engagement programme. It supports the University’s Schools and Services to develop five-year plans to embed sustainable practices throughout their operations.

Blueprint enables teams across campus to develop, track, and achieve their own sustainability goals whilst also contributing to the University’s strategic aims such as our Pathway to Net Zero and Sustainable Curriculum. There are now 20 active Blueprint teams at the University with seven teams in development.

The ISCN Excellence Awards highlight notable achievements in sustainability within higher education institutions across the globe. This year our Blueprint programme has won the Cultural Change for Sustainability award for its pivotal role in igniting behaviour change across campus.

Victoria Smith, Executive Director of the ISCN said:

On behalf of the International Sustainable Campus Network, I am delighted to congratulate the University of Leeds on winning the Cultural Change for Sustainability ISCN Excellence Award. The Blueprint programme serves as an inspiring example for universities around the globe.

Laura Wilkinson, Sustainability Programme Officer and Blueprint programme lead, has had an instrumental role in shaping and delivering the Blueprint programme to an outstanding standard across the University. She said:

We are thrilled that our Blueprint programme has been recognised with this prestigious award. Since 2018, we have engaged with hundreds of colleagues across campus, asking what is important to them and what goals they would like to work towards. We're extremely proud of our network of dedicated Blueprint teams who deliver inspirational and innovative solutions to improve the sustainability of their work areas. This award is an achievement for all who have been involved in Blueprint over the last few years. Congratulations!
