Thinking about your future career, and realising you don’t know where to start? Between 4 March - 8 March, the Careers Service are running a Sustainability Spotlight, with a host of events to help you kick start your career in sustainability!

This week is designed to help you explore a sustainable future. Connect with employers committed to sustainability, explore green careers, and turn your interest into impact!

Here's how the week will look...

Tuesday 5 March , 10am - 4pm, LUU Foyer

Nancy Blake, one of our Student Sustainability Architects, is leading this stall in the LUU Foyer, so pop by to find out al things sustainable careers!

 

Tuesday 5 March, 11am - 12:30pm, Esther Simpson SR (3.01)

Run by a former recruiter, this interactive session will look at how and where to show your sustainability knowledge pre, during and post the placement or graduate recruitment process. So, if you want to know how to use sustainability to differentiate your CV, stand out during your interview and be memorable in your assessment centre, sign up!

 

Tuesday 5 March, 1:30pm - 3pm, Maurice Keyworth Building 1.09

Careers Consultant, Marc Steward, and Joanne Dickinson, Employability Officer in LUBS, will present this session introducing what an assessment centre is and then facilitating an actual mock group activity based on the theme of sustainability. This activity has been donated by a large global company and was used by them in actual assessment centres for graduate job roles at their offices.

 

Wednesday 6 March, 5pm - 6:15pm, Parkinson Court

Do you foresee a career in sustainability? Come and meet our selection of expert employers from the sustainability industry to find out more about how you can make your expectations a reality. Graduating university can be a daunting prospect for many students, so having the opportunity to ask insightful questions and listen to those in the field may ease anxieties about leaving University.

There will be a wide range of employers from several different fields involved in the sustainability industry, so whatever path your hoping to take, there'll be somebody to talk to. Equally, it is a good chance to learn more about the different fields if you're unsure about what it is you hope to do later on. Employers will also value hearing the opinions of current students about their goals and future career prospects. There's something to be gained by everyone at this event!

Come and meet our exciting selection of employers who will be answering your questions and providing valuable insight on the ways you can make your applications stand out for sustainability roles. This is your chance to meet those in the game and put your questions forward.
