About me
As a current University of Leeds student studying BA Geography, Abi is completing her year-in-industry placement with the Sustainability Service. Her role as the Communications and Engagement Assistant is to engage more people with sustainability at the university, through content creation and strategic communication plans.
Prior to this internship, Abi worked as a Social Media Coordinator for a social enterprise, creating content on a variety of parliamentary and social issues and delivering political education sessions in schools to increase political literacy.
Abi co-founded the youth-led, fair-fashion campaign ‘News to Reuse’ in 2020, lobbying MPs and using social media to communicate the social and environmental impacts of fast fashion, as well as organising numerous community swap shops to equip individuals with the tools and knowledge to take climate action. Abi represented ‘News to Reuse’ on the environmental panel at the Global Citizen’s Assembly on the Implementation of the UN 75th Anniversary Declaration.
