About me

Siobhan is the Sustainability Project Officer in the Positive Impact Partners Programme (PIP). PIP forms part of the Sustainability Service's Social Impact theme, aiming to nurture collaborative working relationships between the University and the third sector. PIP's main focus is to encourage and develop connections between the University and local voluntary, community and social enterprise groups, with the aim of creating projects that help build more sustainable and thriving local communities.

The PIP programme recognises that promoting the net zero and sustainability agenda locally is best achieved using a collaborative approach. This involves building strong working relationships with community groups and civic partners to identify barriers to sustainability, and seek potential solutions to those barriers through joint project work with University students and staff.

Following her graduation from the University of Manchester, Siobhan has undertaken a variety of roles in the NHS, education and publishing, including working for 10 years as an open learning editor. Siobhan joins us from Wakefield Council, where she was Climate Change Project Manager, leading on a variety of activities including the Council's first ever 'Free Tree Giveaway', WYCA's Community Grants for Climate Activity Fund and helping to develop the Council's Net Zero Partnership.
