The University of Leeds is now a GOLD accredited Bike Friendly Business!
Having achieved a silver award under the Bike Friendly Business accreditation in 2016, we are delighted to have now been upgraded to GOLD award following a recent re-appraisal of our facilities and initiatives on campus to promote cycling.
The University of Leeds has also been successful in gaining grant support from City Connect to extend our staff ‘Try-Cycling’ scheme fleet of electric bikes which enables more staff to try an electric bike for a one-off 1 month trial, for only £10! (£100 deposit is required in accordance with the Bike Hire Agreement). For more information on all of the Bike Hire options available at The Bike Hub please click here.

Travelling on two wheels is another healthy, fast and cheap way to get around Leeds and on campus we have lots of facilities on hand for people cycling to the university including secure parking, showers, bike hire and maintenance facilities.

Want to cycle but not got access to your own bike? No problem! You can hire a bike at a really low cost from the campus Bike Hub which at the end of the EC Stoner and Roger Stevens building.
Along with bike hire, the hub run self-help maintenance drop-in sessions with a comprehensive range of tools available to use, along with cycle training with safety and route advice for students and staff.

3-MONTH BIKE LOAN
We offer students and members of staff the option to hire bikes for 3 months at £22 (+£100 deposit).
Your hire period starts from the date you collect your bike from the Hub and runs for 3 months from that date. The Hub staff will notify you by email when your hire is coming to an end with instructions on what to do if you wish to re-hire or return. Easy greasy!

TRY CYCLING! BIKE LOAN
This hire option is for staff members only. You will be able to hire either a Ridgeback Speed Hybrid bike, a Brompton folding bike, or an electric bike for one month only for £10 (+£100 deposit). Please find the terms and conditions outlined in the hire agreement here.
The Ofo dockless bike hire scheme is due to launch in Leeds over Summer 2018 with a fleet of 1,000 bikes. The Leeds scheme will focus initially on the city centre, expanding into suburbs and nearby areas shortly after.
The scheme operates via the ofo smartphone app, which users download, register their details and can ride the Ofo bike anywhere in the city and lock it again within the geo-fenced zone at a charge of 50p for a 30 minute journey.
